Hey there yer big ginger wookie, hope you're well. When you getting your @$$ back here over the pond to Lancashire ? It's been nigh on 2 years now. You know Steve the Seasick guy's had a good tour over here, gained some popularity, you've got just as much talent as him though I prefer your songs personally.

So c'mon, big fellah, telephone, ticket to Manchester, plane ride, we'll pick you up at the airport.

Take care buddy
Pete

Grayson - Had a great time under the majestic oaks at the BBC a couple Friday's ago. Tellin' lies out by the fire, in the tunnel and in the bar - hell it don't get any better than that! LOL...I can't wait for you to come back and bring the Stumpnockers with ya. I'll make sure Gary get's to work on that ASAP. Til then, steer clear of Winder and most of all, come up with some more stories and I'll make up some more lies!
Peace

Caught your show at the Basement in Nashville. Wow ! Your songs are truly original and genius. The lyrics come from a unique experience that is only yours and the insight to see the things you describe is phenominal. Tom is a great guitarist and really enjoyable to listen to. Josh is great too and that whistling solo was uncanny. You all put on a show that makes the audience feel like they are appreciated; happy and alive! Grayson you must've majored in Humility at Tulane because you seem to be a world cl@$$ nice guy.

Keep it coming! The art and poetry of your work is a breath of fresh air.

Yep, Hoochiemama, ditto! I didn't understand Anders either, but it was nice to see him standing! Ahh..the good old bad old days of dba..I miss them too, but time moves on and I grow old. My sis-in-law fell in love in Tampa at Skipper's (with Grayson, of course). See ya at the Hippo!

To All Work and no Play,
Grayson was wonderful, as always, at Tips. It was a rare treat to see him solo, made me nostalgic for Thursdays at d.b.a.
And, it was wonderful to see him on the big stage at Tips, it's just a great room and he really filled the space with his voice and guitar. He sang one new song during the performance about The Shed just off the Vancleave exit near Ocean Springs, Mississippi and the older gentleman who dances with pretty woman all night long (sorry Wook, couldn't rembember his name), and coconut moonshine, it's a nice rolliF**KING tune. As P.O.C.E.S.M. said, he kicked the other guys @$$es. Mike Zito was good and has a very strong voice and some heartfelt lyrics, Anders Osborn was technically good but I couldn't tell you anything about his lyrics because they were peppered with so many grunts and groans I just couldn't pay enough attention to the lyrics (someone needs to mention to Anders that he's not an old, black, Delta blues man). Anyway, it was a beautiful afternoon and evening with the Wook and P.O.C.E.S.M. and Josh and it was great to see most of the folks I used to hang with at Lounge Lizards. Only two Stumpknockers were missed, Murly and Millie.
Love to all ya'll, and a heartfelt smack on the @$$,
Hoochiemama

I, for one, am boycotting the debacle that has become The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. My very own Big D will be getting his crappy "Br@$$ P@$$" in order to hang with the elite tent-goers. I will be at the Fest, but will not stoop to the level of those who come to hang at the big stages and pay 4 bucks for a beer. Gimme some moonshine in a smuggled water bottle and I will sit on the ground and groove to the deserving FEW who were chosen. Grayson, you guys are too good for the snooty political games played by the nebulous "Foundation" and their minions. Fck em all!

I don't think anyone other than the top "mega" acts get invited to play Jazz Fest. Everyone else has to submit an "artist application" or have their booking agent do that for them. Did yall?

Whether or not anyone knows, whether or not anyone cares, whether or not we want to or don't want to - we are not playing Jazz Fest. The slunts didn't invite us. So WTFEver. Fuk off and all that. We did it once, that's it. I would ponder never again. We'll play where we play in NOLA.

On a good note the Drive-By Truckers are playing. GO SEE THEM.

Hi ya'll,
I wanted to let any and all of ya'll know that Steve Manlove, Sam from Birdie's Roadhouse husband, died. I don't know any details but I am truly stunned by this and thought there might be some of you who would want to know. I'm sorry to put this out in such a weird place, but Steve and Sam love you guys and your music and I'm sure they would both want you to know. Hold your loved ones close and let them know every day how important they are to you.
With all my love and wonder of that which is life,
Elyse

Hello everybody, we are back and alive and full of more p!$$ and beer than aught to be allowed. Thank you all for the wonderful comments and it has been a whirlwind of a tour in Holland and Germany and Norway. For everybody interested, the shoe burning will be the 14th at my old man's house. If you don't know how to get there ask somebody and bring shoes, socks, old refrigerators, clocks, couches..... anything that you can tell a story about while it's burning and Rayford, we need some moonshine. See ya'll next weekend!

Saw the Stumpknockers with my friend Rob last week in Café de Schalm in Westwoud (Thanks for that three course dinner Kees !!).
Grayson, Tommie, Josh & John were amazing that night. The atmosphere was wonderful, Tommie flew across the ceiling on his Epiphone, Josh & John laying a concrete foundation on b@$$ & drums and Grayson playing and singing, delivering his fantastic lyrics, what a storyteller, a poet this guy is !! Seldom have I seen a gig this full of heart and soul, and I have seen a lot. It's been a pleasure meeting and talking to you guys. Rob and I hope you will come back next summer for festivals so we can spend some time together. It would be our pleasure and a privilege.
Have a great time in Norway and a safe trip back to the US.
Tom, Josh, John & Grayson - Merry Christmas to you and your families.
