You guys blew up Number Sixteen on Friday night. What a great way to introduce yourselves to the fine folks of Montgomery. Aw Shucks, Murly! Don't be so self depricating! Geez...I was TEASING about selling sock monkeys, really. Maybe a little sock monkey with a noose around his tiny little neck? See y'all when I'm lookin' atcha!

It's reedicleous enough that the song exists. And I was a little perplexed that Grayson even wanted to bother recording it yet alone put it on the album. So for S&G I made the ending sound like The Beatles. The original version was just silly and a rip off of Nazareth's "Hair Of The Dog". Then I played it with The Hurricane Hunters. And then the Stumpknockers. Hell, the LP libretto didn't even get the lyrics right which I find stupeying. Instead of selling sock monkeys people should keep their money and buy toilet paper instead - it's a better investment.

I think it's a "2" inch sock monkey. I've got a picture! It was alot of fun hangin out and listening to Grayson & the Stumpknockers at the Hawg Pen last Sunday.

Ah! The BBQ at the Shed was good and y'all were pretty decent as well. I am so thrilled that Tommy has his very own contingent of sock-monkey freaks. It's become a cult. So I'm thinking...let's sell little sock monkeys for 5 bucks a piece...or maybe 10. For each 10 monkeys sold, Murly plays his cult cl@$$ic. Man..y'all can make some money like that!

Hopefully Grayson will put this on his website calendar soon, but just in case I wanted to give ya'll an early heads up, Grayson and the band along with the lovely addition of Skinny Mammy will be playing at Ingrid Lucia's Backyard Bash this year. It's a party that Ingrid has been throwing since 2006 as a way of giving musicians not gigging at the Jazz Fest some exposure and some money. I will be displaying/selling my painted and glittered canvases and hats. It's an intimate setting literally in Ingrid's backyard. It will take place from 4 till 10PM Wednesday, April 29th,2009, that's the Wednesday between the two Jazz Fest weekends.When it gets closer I'll provide more info. So lovely folk if yer gonna be in NOLA during that time frame come on by and support an alternative to Jazz Fest.
And, Grayson, please put it on your calendar.
