JOSH KERIN
Bass & backing vocals

Josh Kerin hails from the northern wastes of New Hampshire and started playing bass at age fourteen. After winning numerous bass-off"s around Contoocook and Webster he decided to tempt fate and move to New Orleans to see if, in fact, an old yankee can play music for a living in the great state of Louisianna.

In the seven years Josh has lived down in New Orleans he has played with a vast majority of characters such as the Svengalis of degredation DIRTY MOUTH, ROCKIN JAKE, MORNING FORTY FEDERATION (but only for a week), RANDY CROUCH, CHAMELEON THEATER, HOODOO TAXI, JIM SMITH AND THE DAMN FRONTIER, TRUMAN HOLLAND, YARD FARMERS, ANDRE WILLIAMS, SLIM NELLSON TRIO, CHRIS KLEINAND BOULEVARDS, QUITE CONTRARY, BURBON COWBOYS, CHOCALATE WASHCLOTH TRIO, DORIAN RUSH AND THE RENEGADE DADIES, SWEEDISH CADILAC and T-BONE STONE.

Currently whooping it up, snarling loud and about and playing with the Stump Knockers, Josh has been holdin' it down and out and spraying beer with Grayson and the boys (and girls, depending on who shows up) for a year and enjoying every minute of it. Hell, he's got a killer whistling curse"HYAHH!" that he blasts at the end of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" that will make the strongest coffee in the world wish it had a set of balls! So come see Josh and the rest of all that Stump Knocker knocky knutty goodness at their next appearance. It's ON.

DARON DOUGLAS
Fiddle

Daron Douglas has been playing fiddle for dancing for more than half of her life. Her background is traditional Appalachian. She thanks her grandmother for passing on family ballads (many of which were collected by Cecil Sharp from Daron's great-grandmother, Jane Gentry, in 1916 and 1917) and also for her preoccupation with gardening. Daron has played with the Knoxville Early Music Project and the Hominy Mamas (a trio once billed at a library party as "providing an evening of song and comedy" even though they thought of their work as traditional Appalachian singing games!). She also plays with the contra dance band Misbehavin', known for their original waltzes CD's, "Just Over the Mountain" and "Somewhere Between Here and Home."

Daron has been on the staff at Country Dance and Song Society dance camps, at Ashokan fiddle & dance camps, and at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. , teaching and playing English country dance fiddle. She now lives and plays music in New Orleans , and tours throughout the
to play English country dances and contra dances at festivals and dance camps on her own and with the bands Goldcrest and Foxfire. Besides being a working musician, Daron is also a professional weaver.

When she joins the Stumpknockers, the audience has been known to take off clothes, but the band boys behave and even play some softer. During Daron's spotlighting instrumentals with the Stumpknockers, usually during "Ducks On A Millpond", she and guitarist Tommy MacLuckie share call and response carpet bombing licks that sometimes turn into a Duel Of The Strings. Downright classy - and sassy. If you hear some high shrieking laughter, it's Daron having a blast.  -- Myles F. Omaha
